Urumqi Wedding...9,000 miles from home!

The next day we took a flight to Urumqi. On the plane, we met a nice lady who was a native of Urumuqi. She taught me basic pin yin on the computer. She also corrected my Chinese calligraphy. Now I am able to write basic Chinese sentences in a bulletin boards or word processors. 太 好了!!!!

We arrived at Urumuqi in the afternoon. Later on in day, we went to a local market in downtown Urumuqi. At the local market, our group encountered a local wedding taking place. The wedding was complete with local folk music and children. After event we went back to our hotel.

Right now at this point, in the Hong Fu Hotel, we are now 8,945 miles (or 14,396 km) from home! We are far and away from home!

BONUS:A wedding was took place around the market. A small parade of Urumqian gathered around to celebrate. I took a few pictures and a small movie of the event. The best part are the children of Urumqi. After the newly wedded couple climbing into their limo, the children aggressively and gleefully surrounded the limo. The children tried very hard to peep into the lemo containing the happy couple.

I was lucky to see this unique event unfold before me. It was quite amusing. :)
